Privacy policy
This website is a private portfolio. It sets no cookies, embeds no analytics or advertising services, and loads nothing from third-party servers — the fonts are hosted here, not at Google. There is no contact form and there are no user accounts.
Controller
The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is Ralf Hörhager, Hauptstraße 12, 3652 Leiben, Austria — further details in the legal notice. For any data protection questions, an email to ralf.hoerhager@gmail.com is sufficient.
Hosting and server log files
The site is served via GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. (San Francisco, USA), a subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation. When a page is requested, GitHub processes the technically necessary access data in log files — IP address, time, requested file, plus browser, operating system and referrer. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in stable and secure provision).
There is no influence over the scope or retention period of these log files; the GitHub Privacy Statement applies. As GitHub is based in the USA, data may be transferred to a third country — GitHub is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and standard contractual clauses apply in addition. For links to external sites such as GitHub, that provider’s own privacy policy applies.
Storage on your device
There is none. The language version follows from the address — the German version lives at ralfhoerhager.com, the English one at ralfhoerhager.com/en/. No cookies are set and no values are placed in your browser's local storage. A cookie banner is therefore not required.
Contact by email
If you send me an email, I use the data you provide solely to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual enquiries. Messages are deleted once they are no longer needed and no statutory retention obligations apply.
Your rights
You have the rights of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). An informal email is sufficient. You may also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, Austria, www.dsb.gv.at.
